The painting of the Martyrdom of Blessed Miguel de Carvalho covers the entire ceiling of the Grand Hall of the Biscainhos Museum, once a space of opulence and festivity, a masterpiece of the Baroque in Portuguese civil architecture.  In the same space, tile panels cover the walls with scenes from the daily life of the nobility.
